WP1: Complex Systems Theory

Developing the fundamental breakthroughs in complexity theory needed to facilitate multi aspect, multi scale modeling of contagious social processes taking into account, among others adaptive behavior of individuals, feedback among different and competing, dynamical processes systemic risk and cascading effects in networks. An important concern is to ensure that the results will not be a set of disconnected models but a consistent, coherent modeling framework. Success Criteria: Presence of an integrated modeling framework applied to concrete problems, showing clear advances in terms of accuracy and predictive power.
